Red meat, eggs, and whole milk should never have been vilified and belong in our diet. This thoroughly researched and captivating expose of the dietary guidelines first introduced in the USA and later adopted by the UK flies in the face of the dogma we are subjected to on a daily basis and proves, without question that everything we’ve been told about fat is wrong. First printed in 2015, The Big Fat Surprise by Nina Teicholz reveals how 60 years of nutrition science has had it so wrong.
I have been waiting to read this book for so long and finally had the opportunity to do so, for free, with a trial membership of audible.co.uk. The membership can be cancelled at any time and I even received a bonus credit which I used to download Gary Taubes book Why We Get Fat and what to do about it.
I have now listened to The Big Fat Surprise (over 13 hours of it) and can say that it was the most enlightening book I have ever read, and will no- doubt go back through it time and again until I have banished the nutritional brainwashing I have received for most of my life. I even feel a little guilty for getting so much information for free from a writer who spent 10 years of her life putting it together.
